EML confusion?

Featured Replies

My EML came on yesterday but not had a chance to hook the car up to vagcom yet.

I had about 35miles left of fuel in the tank and as I was sat at traffic lights the EML came on. I drove home with no noticeable difference to how the car was performing. I took it to the fuel station about an hour later and filled it up. EML went off! I then drove to collect a mate and as I came of a roundabout the light came back on. Got back home and parked the car up for an hour or so, started the engine ready for my 230mile trip and thankfully the light was off and never to come on again during my drive.

Anyone got any ideas? Did I allow the fuel level to drop to much and possibly did the fuel system ingest some crap from the tank?

Cheers.

Nothing to do with the fuel level, that's just pure coincidence. I've run mine right down to 0miles on the clock, and did a good 5miles saying there's nothing in the tank with no issues.

Not a clue what it could be, get it on VAGCOM and see what faults have been logged.
