When is the 1.9 Pd to be discontinued?

Featured Replies

And is there likely to be a run on them?, due to demand for a "last chance" non DPF diesel.

On tother hand

A loaded "run out" model would be nice for that venerable lump.

Sigh

Hasn't it gone already?

They're now only available from stock, so no more factory orders.

Cheap lease deals available as companies try to offload them, so yes, bargains can be had for non-dpf diesels if you act quickly.

Thanks guys

I missed that

Better start looking then

So what's it being replaced by?

The 1.6 TDI CR diesel, with dpf - similar power/torque figures, better "official" economy figures, smoother and quieter. Seems to be getting a mixed reception regarding driveability and economy though. And it's got a dpf, so not ideal for frequent short trips.

Nah, no good to me. I'd want a 2,0CR engine.

I don't want the vRS, it's a plod & s.c.r.o.a.t attraction device.

2.0 PD being replaced by 2.0 CR from 1st July I think.

I was in my local Skoda Dealership on Saturday and the salesman showed me the Skoda Dealers info stating the 2.0Cr 140bhp engine (elegance trim) was being introduced from build week 22,

although there was no prices available yet but he expected the prices to be about £300 above the current 2.0PD price and because of the popularity of this engine the delivery time was going to be 16 weeks.

I'd prefer a 170 bhp CR version, but I think that will be asking the impossible.emoticon-0101-sadsmile.gif

That would defeat the point of the VRS.

You could get it remapped?

No it wouldn't.

Not every one wants a spoiler & all the chrome etc that comes with the vRS.

If VW can do a 170bhp Non GTi Golf then Skoda could quiet easily do the same for the Octavia Elegance and L&K, without any problems. I don't see why they couldn't then "tune" the 2,0CR to 200bhp for the vRS.

You could then do 3 levels of CR engine:

S, SE, Greenline - 1,6 & 2,0CR (140 bhp)

Scout, Elegance, L&K - 2,0CR (140 & 170 bhp)

vRS - 200bhp.

They don't have a 200bhp diesel.

There's no room in the range for a 170bhp non-vRS diesel.

That's why I said they could "tune" it for the vRS & leave it un-tuned for lower models.
