An article in last months evo magazine about the FIA GT championship mentioned that one of the Swiss teams are entering a pair of lady racers in this years championship.

I know we've had lady racers in BTCC and some very sucessful ones compete over the pond in the 'States; however to feature in an FIA world championship I thought was quite an acheivement.

Evo might have also mentioned that they were a Swiss team and they would quite comfortably be the best looking team in the paddock.

These 2 will be joined by fellow lady racer Rachel Frey to enter this years Le Mans 24 hours!!

However on further investigation of the teams website to find out how they got on in the first FIA GT round in Abu Dhabi I found this ominous headline:

Further reading of the article reveals that she has a double compound fracture of her right leg and rather than being an unfortunate race incident the crash happened in qualifying. it also gives us this fantastic barely believable quote:

At the braking point at the end of the straight Natacha started braking as normal. A leak was reported in the rear brake circuit which required Natacha to press back hard on the brake. When putting pressure on the brake pedal Natacha's foot unfortunately also pressed the accelerator pedal. The front brake circuit continued to function correctly but the combination of factors led to Natacha failing to negotiate the corner and going down the escape road, hitting the safety barriers and it is thanks to the safety and security devices on the vehicle that Natacha avoided the worst

Wonder if she wants anyone to hold her crotch crutch.

You'll be surprised how easy something like that is to do in a proper race car with pedals spaced for heel and toe etc. Usually it just ends up that you notice it and stop doing it, not plough on through a corner

I bet she didn't admit it until the data logging came out.

Still have complete respect for women in motor sport though, it's a damn sight easier to get up the ladder than it is of a male or similar talent, women are more marketable and obviously more attractive to the viewing audience (mostly men)
