Stuttering when cold/wet

Featured Replies

Sometimes in the mornings my vRS has been stuttering after starting. It's generally when it's cold (below 6 degrees) and/or wet. If I increase the revs for a minute before setting off it goes away and runs fine, if I don't the car will jerk as I'm driving as if it's about to stall. It's really starting to get on my nerves - any suggestions on what to check/replace?

secondary air pump maybe?

or dirty throttle body... i aint no tech here.. but i believe one or the other may well be the cause.. my last octy did the same in the cold.. kangaroo city :giggle:

a few just let the revs settle down.. or i think one of the later mods is to have the secondary air pump removed :S

I'd be looking at the HT Leads and plugs. Damp and condensation can cause this if the leads are getting on a bit. Once they've warmed up a bit the problem goes away.

Thanks for the replies both of you - it's given me some options to look at.

I'll check it out this weekend...

and you've started something... as mine was spluttering away this morning... and stalled before i could catch it, but then i could have caused these issues myself :giggle: long story, but involves a CAI and electrical tape :o
