Hi everyone,

i have installed some sound equipment in my car and have a "wine" and bass click that speeds up with the press of the accelerator.

I have tried the ground cable in various places and then ran a cable direct to the battery. no change.

it doesn't make the wine or bass click with the engine off. So, I'm led to believe its EMI and i need a suppressor.

I have no idea about this and apparently there various sizes and places to put them. Does anyone know what kind i need for a MK1 Octavia T reg?

Any ideas or suggestions greatly appreciated.

Are you running the power cable and the audio cable next to each other through the car? This would cause a wine with acceleration.

as above, power cables should be run down 1 side of the car and speaker wires down the other. also check the length of the wires especially the earth lead as these should be as short as possible

I am running them together, but I did test if that was the cause by removing the power cable from the battery and amp and attached a seperate wire and ran it around the outside of the car and it still made the whine.
