B7 RS4 brakes on a vrs

Featured Replies

have any of you guys heard of these brakes going onto a vrs before? i ask because i was reading an old max power at work today and saw an R32 golf with them fitted.the discs were 365mm,so 19s are needed to clear them. if they wont go on what other semi oem set ups are there.i want to try something different really. and if i can do it for £600 ish all the better.....cheers

mmmm have a look at sig.

is the B7 the new one? the 4.2 V8

I was lookin at them and providin you get the carriers made they will fit. What would you want 8 pots one tho? and they are not cheap neither.

Wouldnt the 365 mm fit under 18"?

Billy,

360mm is as big as you can go with 18" rims as far as I know. Could be wrong though.....

Steve

wouldnt you need a hefty mastercylinder to run them as they are 8 pots, you will find you have a lot of pedal travel i would have thought.

plus you wont get the calipers for £600 let alone the rest of the stuff needed, so thats out of the budget already

Yup, arent discs something like £300 ish a side anyway!!

lol, yea I was watchin sone calipers only and they went for 1200 notes, then the discs are 200+ each then Pads are 200 a set too iirc.

I have been told the MC is fine and they wont be spongy but tbh I cant see it.

Id just get the Compbrake 6 pots all in for 950 notes. and an extra 50 for them coated vRS green.

that clears that up then,hi spec big brake kit it is then,at least they will fit under normal size wheels and not mess up the handling.i didnt realise they would be that much.i think i need to sit down.

You would maybe be better going down the porsche route. I ran porsche 4 pots on my fabia, whih i might put on my octavia, and they came in around the price you are talking after sourcing calipers etc.

yup or brembo 4 pots, kit can be had for around £500, either that comp brake at a grand which are GREAT for the money and better than the hispec ones from what i have seen

dont you need spacers with the sdt spiders if you uses brembos? only 3mm ones iirc but still needed.

the compbrake ones with 335mm disks fit under them as is.

Ill be saving for them lol, if they still do them by then......

I have used 10mm forge spacers on mine.
