Ambient lighting on the fabia

Featured Replies

Hello,

End of week 1 is probably for RARB and stereo (if I remember how to dismantle it  ) my lovely kvx-33 have sat at home for over a year..!

Week 2-3 will be interior/LED tweaking me thinks,

Found this on the forums earlier: http://www.seatcupra.net/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=552&Itemid=6

Was thinking doing something similar to the fabia except with all green leds.. any opinions?

Also thinking of lighting other places but haven't figured out where yet, if anyone has any ideas I shall consider giving it a go. other thoughts might be:

Cup holder,

The cubby hole by the gear (changing it from normal bulb to led),

Spare change pull down bit,

Glove box (does that have a light? I dont remember),

Footwells? [questionable.. chav-ish or stylish?]

Side of door (prob white led strip, shining downwards)

Boot (possibly do when I get my sub back)

Just to add, these leds (bar side door one) will be the 3mm ones so it will be very very low glow, so it wont look like a xmas tree! I really dont like lighting inside the car! unless its for something useful (like for seeing things!)

Oh on a slightly different topic, I haven't searched on this but has anyone put any white led strips for the front of the car? or  ?

Lastly, I was tempted to put a project profile on the forums.. however I cant post new, so im guessing its for +members only?

Glove box has a light on all models IIRC. 'Rob.' on here has done footwell lighting with white bulbs, and that looks fine. If done properly and subtle it looks good, the max power bright blue approach doesn't. If you search by his topics you should be able to find them.

Also, if you do a search for 'coming home lights' you can find a guide to turn on the headlamps when the car is unlocked, and off when locked (linked to interior light). Quite easy, but only issue is opening doors makes the headlamps turn on!

RE the project things, that's being phased out and new topics aren't allowed. It's all being done via 'blogs' now instead.
