Featured Replies

Im off to pick up my car today, im assuming it wont have the electirc folding mirrors despite being told it did, when orederd 16th feb,

how do you reckon i should approach this wih the dealer.

i just want the £180 VALUE they are now listed as, against some additional parts

I don't understand, why are you assuming it won't have them? :wonder:

Because Skoda changed the spec without telling the dealers... This was a massive thread a couple of months back

oh, ok, sorry only joined recently.

Not Much help I know, but the answer is in the small print I regret to say. Have a look at the rear cover of the Skoda Brochure - Blah Blah - " Not binding and subject to alteration etc."

I wasn't overly impressed either - I've got a 1.8 Elegance on order and it would have been a useful feature. Never mind, I'm looking forward to having a Skoda again, the last one was one of the best cars I've ever had and I have had all sorts in over 40 years of car ownership.

I had the exact same issue................

2 options :

1) Reject the car and reorder with the mirrors specified. Then you have to wait again for weeks.

2) Accept £180. This can be in accessories or a cheque. This is the max amount advised by skoda uk.

I managed to squeeze a set of mats out of my dealer and some fuel also. Although I had to really push for that.

Yes it tainted the initial pick up for me but now I have the car and love it I don't really miss them. I live on a main road so they were important to me however I've quickly got into the habit of folding them manually and if someone does decide to knock one off at least they will be cheaper to repair (hopefully).

Hope this helps. :)

Does the dealer know you know about this issue?

If not, just feign ignorance and complain when you notice they're not foldable. Be exasperated and extremely disappointed, show him the Jan 2010 brochure, and 'what are you going to do about it?' 'it's not good enough' etc etc. See if he offers anything. If he doesn't, ask him why they're not there then maybe show him the April 2010 brochure and get him to give you £180 for accessories.

Glad I ordered mine more recently - I specced them as optional extras.

Good Luck!

I wouldn’t be too hasty with the reject option; some models are now getting towards a 5 month waiting time for delivery.
