I have a Mk1 Octy VRS, and under light load in 2nd and 4th gears it seems to flutter on boost, as though i'm feathering the throttle even though i'm not?

Any ideas?

I have also had a similar thing, but i was doing approx 120 MPH (on track) at the time and it was a little like it was missing, back off and it went away, but back on and it "missed" again?

any thoughts?

It could possibly be a dump valve issue, i.e. the spring isn't hard enough and the DV is leaking boost as the turbo spools up. Or it could be one of many other boost leak or vacuum leak issues. What mods has it got and have you had it fault code scanned?

Its got a panel filter and a remap of unknown origin apparently, but thats it as far as i am aware.

I'm not sure it has a dump valve, but could be a faulty recirc valve?

Yep, could be - but then if it's remapped it could be a trait of the remap.

If you can get it fault code scanned (buy a cheap scanner or find someone local with VAG-Com) that should show you if it's got a boost leak or not. Has it got the standard black plastic Bosch DV (sorry should have said divertor valve not dump valve) or an aftermarket one?
