hi

i have an 04 vrs fabia and its symptoms are:

smoke before it warms up

oil leaking(from one of the turbo pipes i think)

a whine.

suspected the turbo and got a mechanic to take it off. on inspection he says its moving freely without any play.

what else could be causing this??

any help appreciated

What Colour Smoke ?

Could be a Boost leak, Has it lost power ?

They All weep/leak oil from the Vag Boost hose's due to the Crank case breather system recirculating it back through ...

They can all have a bit of a whine/whistle also, If it is V loud or sounds like a Police Siren then it sounds like Journal bearings.

If not, i would listen to a few others & compare ..

The smoke would be a blue shade when u hit the turbo. ( only when car is cold) when it warms i dnt think there is as much smoke.

boost leak!!

youve already identified your problem!! a leaky intercooler hose!!

replace this then give it an italian tune up!!

smoke will just be due to the leak
