Sold my Octavia

Featured Replies

Thanks all for all the help that I received on the forum in the last couple of years; I just sold my 2003 Octavia, 1.4 petrol. Maybe I bought a bad one; I was wondering what would go wrong next and lost my trust in it. In two years I had 2 coil pack failures, a leaking windscreen, (which my neighbour also had) a door that refused to open, (which again my neighbour had) a headlight motor failure, rear wiper not parking, and the day that I was to exchange it, the heater blower motor failed, which I had to repair before exchanging. So I went Japanese.

The car was little more than 4 year old when I bought it and I would have expected better, (my neighbours was a 06)

On the plus side, it was doing up to 47 mpg on a run, I liked the huge boot, and it handled well, the dealer was great and tried to keep my cost down.

Yeah. My vRS has plenty of niggly faults and has been very expensive this year. I'm slightly regretting deciding that the extra money for an Accord was too much. OTOH, I never really looked into the practicalities of an Accord. I don't think I'll have another VAG car for a while. If I'm feeling flush when it's time to change it, I shall be seriously considering an Accord. If not, it will probably be a Mondeo.
