Drew here from sleepy old Adelaide South Australia.

Just picked up a MY09 (built feb 09) vRS 125TDi DSG Wagon.

last before the facelift outside, but facelifted inside.

loving it, just handed back my work car yesterday, so hanging to do some kms in the vRS

project car is a 1963 Holden EJ Special Wagon. (google EH or EJ Holden to get a better look, mine is a wagon body shape)

bought it as a rolling shell a couple years ago, havent touched it in 10 months :( (too much cycling and surfing!!)

I've got a toyota 1UZ-FE 4litre quad cam 32 valve V8 sitting in it at the moment with HR front end and 300mm rotors up front. Hilux diff ready to go in it too.

i'll finish it one day.... a long way to go on it.... efi fuel system, full rewire, radiator, headers, exhaust, interior, paint, brakes system

it will be the surf bus one day....

Hilux Diff may slow the Topend a little , But the Noise & acceleration .. Should be Fun ... So we will be seeing some Pics & a Vid in 2 Weeks ? No time to post on here .. Get to it

aim is to build an old school iconic aussie surf bus - that can lay hell skids...!

putting a toyota donk in it is controversial to some, but they're alot more refined than the holden 8's or chev options.

as for diff, the engine came from a toyota crown which ran the same G-series diff as a Hilux. original ratio in the crown was a 3.9.

havent checked what mine is yet, i'll be running either a 3.9 or 4.1

not interested in top end, as long as it can cruise at 100kmh without rpm being too high

the vehicle will however be at least 300kg lighter than the crown!!!

i'd hope it would be good to cut 14 second quarters.

so not super quick, but quick enough for some fun... definately quick enough for a car that is well over 40 years old
