As the title suggets, with the constant rise in motoring costs im thinking of selling the leon cupra tdi150 of mine and getting a Fabia VRS instead,

ive always had a "soft spot" for the little car and theres nothing but good reviews everywhere ya look!

Ive got a test drive for an 04 in Preston on saturday so thats gonna be judgement day as to whether or not im chopping in the leon!

im 6ft 3" so i hope ill fit in without my knees up by my ears too-lol!!

Why would you want a Fabia if you already have a tdi?

reliability issues with the leon? or just fancy a change

well ever since i bought the car ive had issues with mine,

-boost hoses popping with no aftermarket replacement kit reliable enough. (sfs,allard, forge etc) mixed reviews,

-insurance is just too much now ive just bought new house,

-got the "i fancy a change" itch too....lol

etc etc.....

Hello and Welcome to Briskoda. I'm 6'7 / 6'8 and fit in the Fabia without any issues.

i know someone that had a mk5 golf gti petrol an chopped it in for the fabia, and hes NEVER looked back, an hes about ur height too!

I Had a Leon Cupra Tdi

Much More of an involved Drive even in standard form compared to a Standard fabia, Much More Gutsy at the Topend with the Bigger 150 Turbo. More Interior Space also & little difference in Economy .....

The Leon Cupra Tdi has all the Bits as Standard that The Fabia Vrs Should of Had, That is Why we all put the Cupra Bits on

I do Love the fabia, But i Kinda think i Sold the Leon in Haste ...

I think I'm the other way around. I would love an Edition 30 Candy White Golf. I blame Jabba!

thats exactly what to do i agreee,

its probably just me moaning over little faults and just gotta get it up on ramps an have a good look around, but ya know when you`ve just had enough an want a change........?

I understand your issue with the boost hoses, there is a cheap fix around it cross tie 2 cable ties keeps it secure and stops the pipe from popping off.

If your after reliability there wont be much of a difference at the end of the day its a VAG Car they share similar problems, nothing serious but all depends on maintenance.

The car your going to view make sure it has full service history and has used only VW 505.01 engine oil PD engines require this spec oil to reduce problems.

Fabia Vrs are good cars but the handling will let you down as standard as the Leons are meant to be good handling cars.

Since yours is 150 the fabia vrs will feel slower.

Iv always liked Leons seems more like a good top spec diesel, thats why many Fabia VRS owners use the Leon bits
