Digital Speed display

Featured Replies

I picked up my 1.8 TSI DSG Elegance on Wednesday and I am very impressed, there is not a single squeak or rattle anywhere (unlike my previous Alfas) and the engine and gearbox are fantastic, it is a real pleasure to drive. I sorted out my first problem of unlocking all the doors it turned out to be a single press then a double press on the key.

I only have the standard trip computer and down in the bottom right hand corner the display shows the total milage when stationary and the speed in km/hr when moving. Can this be switched off or changed to show mph? I guess it needs to be in km/hr when abroard as there are no km markings on the speedo.

As you say, they have removed the kph markings from the FL.

There does not appear to be any way to remove it, or change it to mph. Probably a legal requirement.

Yes, I believe it is a legal requirement to display the speed in KPH at all times.

Thanks,

I won't embarrass myself by asking the dealer about this.

Whilst we are on the subject why can't manufactures agree what side the rev counter and speedo should be and stick to it, but i am sure I will adjust eventually.

Yes, when I went from a VW to my Skoda it threw me a lot . . . so much so I got a speeding ticket 10 days after getting it, going uphill whilst looking at the Speedo, which was actually the Rev counter showing 20 (x100) rpm NOT MPH! Doh!

My mates Golf has the dials the same way round as my vRS, were they different in previous models?
