Which wax for wheels?

Featured Replies

I'm looking for advice on some wheel-specific wax please. I have an FL Octavia vRS with the 18" alloy wheels. I've never bought or used wheel-specific wax before, just used whichever wax I put on the car (Meguiars NXT or Autoglym Aqua usually). But the vRS wheels look so good clean I want to keep them that way. I am looking for a wax that lasts a long time once applied as where I live means it is difficult to keep the wheels very clean, or to apply wax regularly. And I can't take the wheels off the car. My last cars' wheels suffered some light marking/corrosion and I want to avoid that this time.

So, your best product advice please, and where to buy. Thanks.

Zaino Clear Seal is superb on wheels as it dries clear and you don't have to buff it off - ideal for nooks and crannies on wheels.

Chemical Guys Wheel Guard

Rimwax

or GTechniq C5 wheel armour

would be my recommendations

I hear jetseal 109 is pretty good but I haven't tried it yet. :(

Jetseal 109 worked an absolute treat on my old wheels. Lasted well too. Got SRP + some stuff from the wheel specialist on my new ones. Topping it up with UQD every so often which really seems to help them stay clean and shiny.

I've just tried some planet polish wheel sealant. Just waiting for the feedback from the owners of the cars I've applied It to. It went on & came off easily.

Another vote for the Jetseal 109

I've tried dedicated wheel wax (Poorboys I think it was) but much preferred the Jetseal

Chemical Guys Wheel Guard

Rimwax

or GTechniq C5 wheel armour

would be my recommendations

You didn't mention you had been using the C5? Any good?

CG Jetseal 109 gets my vote, used Rimwax and Poorboys Wheels Sealant and didn't rate them that great, have heard great things about Oggy's suggestion of Planet Polishes product............

Alos worth considering Collinite 476s and FK1000p...........

Another vote for jetseal, has made cleaning my wheels much easier and it seems to last well

Alos worth considering Collinite 476s and FK1000p...........

Either of the above get my vote! 7.gif

Where can I get this jetseal from?

here you go ive bought most of my online stuff from here

jetseal

you could put some nxt on top for some extra bling!

Cheers guys! Whats NXT? Sorry for being such a newb!

meguiars nxt 2 tech wax

nxt 2

Thanks. I think i'll try the jetseal first.

I've tried the nxt wax on my wheels before and while they look great it doesn't last that long. I've only had jetseal on for two days so can't really comment but many people recommend it for it's tough effect.
