Just wondering if anyone could give me an idea what mpg they are getting from their 1.8 manual Octavia. I just put twenty quid in mine and with fifty five miles of mixed driving , if the fuel gauge is to be believed its arsed half of it already!. Before anyone asks , no i dont drive it like i stole it and there are no signs of petrol leaks. Am i being unrealistic or has my car got a drinking problem.

I have a 1.8 SLXi Manual Estate. I get 27ish commuting in heavy London Traffic and an easy 40+ on any sort of open road driving. My Record is Sutton, to Stratford via the M25 in heavy traffic, I never got much above 60 but no queueing either. I average nearly 51MPG. My M2 Trip memory is showing an average of 37 for the last 2436 miles.

To be fair i have probably been doing mostly urban driving so ill take her for a run on the weekend on the motorway and work out what the mpg is . If its anywhere as good as your Octavia ill be quite happy. Thanks for the reply mate and hopefully ill be in the 50 mpg club this weekend.
