Can Anyone Confirm This

Featured Replies

First off, I wonder whos idea it was to stick a huge seam around the coolant header tank, right between the MAX and MIN marks. OK onto the information. The VRS has a different header tank than the Octavia, double partition so you cannot see or clean the low level contacts if they get corroded, so that means a new tank.

Anyway, my question is regarding the coolant level. Mine was right on the minimum mark so I topped up with G12+ 50/50 with distilled water. Overdid it slightly and level was about 5mm above max. No problem, but here's the weird thing, the level has now dropped to exactly on the MAX level when engine warm (as it should be). Thing is, there is no sign of expelled coolant in the engine bay, from the tank overflow that runs down the L/H side of the tank.

So has anyone overfilled their coolant slightly, and seen the level magically return to normal, with no signs of coolant being expelled?

Is there a midget that drinks anti freeze hiding in the coolant tank

yeah mines does this, when its cold it sits 5mm above max

when hot and running drops down to max level

then rises back up when its cool! queer
