Hi all , just joined up ,great site you have here :D i'm thinking of getting a fabia vrs diesel , i currently drive a tuned impreza turbo , but its costing too much to run , hence thinking of the skoda :D , I've read that these are quite tunable , i would be wanting to get a few more horses out of it if i got one , what sort of power is possible , I'm a mechanic so doing the work is not a problem , just would need some one to remap it , iv'e read that a basic remap takes them up to 170 bhp /300 ft lbs , can you push much past this limit with basic mods or do you start having to changing engine internals? , cheers

Welcome to the forum. As you can see from my sig they are very tunable.

There are 2 or 3 fabias on here over 250 bhp and 400lbs/ft and still making 25-30mpg. TBH depending on how your impreza is tuned believe it or not it is more than possible that you could get a good spanking from me or someone else on here in a straight line. Not bad for a 1.9 diesel skoda eh?

With a standard remap you could stick with original clutch etc... as some on here have. If you are looking for big power gains you want to uprate clutch, FMIC, PD160 intake, etc..... check out the fabia I section for more info. You may want to think about bigger brakes an all

thanks for that , would be nice to get around that power if possible , do you have procject thread on here to see what work/parts are required , i take it its the same as the impreza as tuning goes , - FMIC bigger turbo, bigger cc injectors, decat, exhaust , custom remap etc. etc., cheers

You basically listed it already fella. The engine basics on mine are:

New Garret/Turbo Technics hybrid turbo

New FMIC

Blueflame Exhaust

Green cotton filter

PD160 intake

Uprated 92mg injectors

Washbrook remap

Allard racing camshaft

Sachs sintered racing paddle clutch

I'm sure there is more but just can't think of anything on the hop.

of course there is then the bigger brakes, suspension and handling mods to cope with the extra power. Hope that helps
