Has anyone changed the intercooler? What one would be a good upgrade?

Looking at a focus ST FMIC but not sure if it would improve anything?

cheers again folks :D

anyone? someone must have an idea.......................:D

It's already an FMIC so why not just stay with what's there?

Would they're be no advantages then? Was just an idea i was toying with. Knew it had a frount mount but wasn't sure if i could make it more efficient

It's sandwiched along with the Rad and A/C radiator, so the best way to do anything I guess would involve removing it and putting a new one in with free air flow.

I have to say that I don't think heat soak is an issue, so I'd probably spend your money elsewhere.

Thanks buddy  as i said, was just toying with the idea..........hhmmmm...........bigger turbo or suspension set up now   :D lol

Low air temp = greater density = better bang.

You only need a bigger (more efficient) intercooler if your change temp (air temp after the intercooler) if high. With a standard turbo within its efficiency island I would hope the standard intercooler is easily upto the job. However the only way to know this is to fit a act (air charge temp) sensor/gauge and monitor. However a turbo upgrade may lead to higher temps! I am not sure where you would mount and pipe a bigger intecooler though :D

I can't think that there will be too much of an effect by changing the Intercooler....
