Superb elegance Engine compartment

Featured Replies

Hi All,

I have just bought a used skoda mrkII superb elegance 2lt d pd from a skoda dealer 85 plate

I noticed that the battery cover was missing from the car when I opened the bonnet the dealer insited he would replace all the missing bits of the car before I picked it up. Also I was missing the brolley

I was wondering if any 2lt diesel owners could take a photo of their engine compartment / spare wheel compartment so that I can see if their is a full compliment of things there.

Or does someone have a propper vehicle inventory.

Its just I have been burned by dealers used approved schemes before (mostly ford mind you) who dont bother even checking your car has things like a filler cap or a dip stick when you drive it off the forecourt. (or in one case a oil cap on the engine very messy to drive without that).

Kevin.

btw just switced for a mondeo tdci titanium x 2 anyone else switched from a mondeo?

yep switches from a 2008 Titanium X 2 Litre Diesel Automatic a car which I enjoyed....to a 170CR Elegance Auto

Superb

Smoother, quieter and more solid.

More relaxing on long drives

Boot lid doesn't **** all over you after rain

Fuel tank too small

Mondeo

Sony DSP stereo on Mondeo much much better sound than Collumbus with DSP

Bluetooth Car Kit more reliable and user friendly especially when choosing between paired handsets (i.e between wife and me)

A teeny bit more fun to drive on a curvey road

We thought we would miss the Mondeo but don't except for the sound and bluetooth

Regards,

GT

I am glad you explained the last pic.

Thats the 1.9 engine, not the 2L (that's a Guess, by your Details under your name by the way....)

Battery box aint there on my less-than 2 week old, built just a few weeks ago 170 elegance 4x4... it's not just a Soft wrap and top...

Will do you a piccy later today.

Thanks for this.

Got my car on friday with everything fitted I think.

From comming from a mondeo background its weird how everything feels so much more engineered than the mondeo.

I have had several mondeos but the mrk 4 has been the worse car I have ever owned (even for a top of the range model).

Its like ford took their part buckets and just put a car together Lego style from it. Especially when you get things like the electric window switches that you cant get to because the door handle is in the way.

The superb feels like someone has gone to the bother of designing it (with vw parts of course).

The stereo is not as good as the mondeo but having a car that feels like it is put together well makes up for it.

Haven’t had a chance to fly it round some country roads yet but it doesn’t feel any worse to drive than my mondeo. Plus the mondeo was very “boaty” in towns and seemed to lack a second gear completely.

Only regret is that I couldn’t afford the dsg gear box.

I think Im going to get the spoiler for the back as the car looks a bit funny from some angles without it.
