2 Year Brake Fluid Change

Featured Replies

I have just rang up two Skoda garages for the Fabias 2nd year service both quoted £191 + £51 for a brake fluid change. If the fluid isn't change will it invalidate the warranty or can the change wait for another year?

Brake fluid is hydroscobic; after 2 years, it's absorbed enough water for its boiling point to drop to something potentially dangerous.

I got told to replace the brake fluid every 12 thousand miles or a year and a bit. For the cost of £50 at least you know your safe. Done it with all my cars.

Wont invalidate the warranty as it is advisory to change, not service item per se. Toyota charge around £60-70 so the garages you mentioned are about right for (fluid change). I would stretch it to 3 years if the mileage is low.

i got my car serviced and the brake fluid changed at a vw dealer.total cost £150.

it was it's 3rd service. i got quoted £250 from my skoda dealer.

cause it's the same engine as a vw polo it uses the same parts.
