Order Placed!

Featured Replies

Hi all - very happy prospective Yeti owner here (Corrida Red 110 SE 2wd - with sunroof, so expecting delivery in, oh, I don't know, September maybe :p )

But to get to the real reason for posting (other than just saying hi)... I had some good news from work about a week after ordering, so decided to throw caution to the wind and upgrade to Elegance spec (we have a 2 year old, so leather seems a good idea).

However, the dealer is saying he can't do it because we placed the order using Swappage and that deal is no longer offered on the Yeti... which I would understand if I wanted to change the model (let's say from a Fabia, which still qualifies for Swappage) but since all I want to do is give him more of my money, I confess I don't quite get it!

Does he really have to place an entirely new order in the system, just to change the spec? Or is he trying to make me say 'oh well, never mind, let's forget the swappage deal, here's an extra couple of grand' and start again?

Any advice on how to play this? There is another dealer locally who I could try to play him off but the risk is losing my place in the sunroof queue (placed order 3 weeks ago)!

And honestly, I'm sure I'll still be chuffed to bits with the car (went for a sneaky test-drive at another dealer when I went to see my parents, just to get a quick fix - I'm such a kid  ) but now the idea of Gobi Sand leather interior is in my head, it's hard to shake...

Thanks all!

Depends on if he has a build week for your order or not.

He is right though, they have stopped the swappage on the Yeti. If he can't make adjustments to your order he will have to make a new order up and the system won't allow you to order it as a swappage campaign car.

Any other dealer will not be able to do a swappage scheme, so playing him off against another dealer isn't going to work unless your 'swappage' car is worth a few quid.

I hope you do get your Yeti with a roof in September, they are taking AGES!

It is a bizarre system. A friend of mine worked at the Mercedes factory in South Africa where the C-classes are made for the UK. He said right up to the day your car gets painted you can still change the colour and spec... If they can do this in Africa why can't Skoda do it in Europe I ask you?!?

Hi James, thanks for responding.

I guess that's the crux of the question - should it still be possible to make adjustments to the order? AFAIK the build week has not yet been set - in which case, is the order still open in whatever system you use? Just seems strange for it to be locked down so early in these days of hi-tech just in time manufacturing and I wonder if the swappage thing is being used as something of a smokescreen?
