Can I have some opinions please?

Featured Replies

Firstly, this is not a fish for compliments thread!!!

I recently bought these wheels from another member on here. I test fitted them to my Octavia and I'm undecided. I think they look better than the standard 16" but i'm not sure that they really fit well.

I'm worried it may also be the suspension that doesn't look right. As far as I know, only the front coilovers are height adjustable.

Anyway, what do you guys think? Wheels and stance?

The suspension is this kit... I know it's koni, but i don't know any more than that :giggle:

(The bits were all cleaned up and well greased before they were fitted!)

Bigger brakes and some sort of splitter may help I think. The wheels just don't have that OEM quality about them on my car that some aftermarket wheels have. :S

Sorry mate ,prefer originals, they look cheap. Well you did ask for opinions!

Yep, L&K, AND... a diesel! :giggle:

So it's always going to look faster than it actually is!

Perhaps you're right, standard vrs wheels might look best. I wanted to explore the possibilties a bit though, maybe have something different. And these just came up at the right time. It's hit and miss I suppose!

Hey blu, not everyone has a vRS - some of us aren't sheep! :p

Jcb... you need a badge on the grille!!:D

Yeah I like that! I always wanted one on the boot aswell, since all it ever had was the standard "Octavia" then "1.9 TDI".... Boooooring....

I might well just get a couple!! Thanks for the part no.

needs lowering on the front so it sits level  i think the wheels look ok, prob not as nice as vrs wheels but better than the standard 16s (not seen them tho) but its down to personal taste and if you like them then dont let everyone put you off them.

i think if you get the stance level it will look better. or maybe even paint the wheels a different colour before you ditch them totally as its amazing what a colour change can do :smirk: i had chromes which i hated, a few halfords black rattle cans later and there transformed

I agree with this, just need to find time to get it done, at the same time i'll soften the dampers a bit too. Taking apart the suspension is never a job I look forward to!

I think they look better than the standards simply for the fact that there isn't a huge balloon of rubber inbetween the wheel and the arch. Not sure what colour would suit these better on a black car though. I think white would be a little OTT considering they already look far from standard.

Edit:

Heres a better photo of the wheels up close. I think it would help having the ridge smoothed in that runs down the middle of each spoke.

They are actually Team Dynamics wheels, or so the centre caps tell me. Have never seen others like this though.

Edit 2: They are apparently Team Dynamics "Fusion Special 17"' a quick google confirms.

I don't feel a flat 5 design like that suits the car. I think something multi-spoke, whether showy (BBS LMs say) or motorsporty (OZ Superleggeras) is a better look.

Of course there are other OE wheels which tend to suit as well. Depends what you're after. Just because something looks better than 16s, doesn't make it right.

I think the nicest look I have seen so far is a set of the new Scirroco rims on a silver Octy just can't afford them :(
