Disappearing Earth

Featured Replies

I seem to be losing the Google earth icon from my desktop at regular intervals.

Is there any other way to re-establish an Icon without downloading the whole Google earth package. The removed icon is not going to the Re-cycle bin, so I can't re-establish the package quickly and there doesn't appear to be a com or exe file in the Google earth folder that a user created icon could point to.

Not sure whether this recurring loss is the action of some housekeeping function in Vista, or over zealous marketing of Chrome - every time you download a fresh Google earth package, Chrome is, by default, downloaded as a complimentary package, unless you untick the box.

This seem to be happening about once a month now.

Any body else had experience of this ?

Nick

Reading googles support forums it seems to be a common problem, although not sure how to resolve it. You could create a shortcut elsewhere like in quick launch and see if that disappears.
