Had my 56 VRS TFSI for 6 Days and it has Broken down!

Featured Replies

Must say, whilst i was immensely impressed with the VRS having never owned a Skoda, I am less than impressed it is dead after 6 days. After 8 years of owning VW, Audi or Seats and never having a car brake down on me, to get into it after a 14 hour shift at 3am and it just not start was not the best.

Anyone have any ideas what may be wrong with it? It is at the garage awaiting a laptop on Monday. Ran sweet as a nut to work no issues at all, then just would not start, just keeps turning over. no error messages, nothing.....

Could be a number of things. Turning over but not starting could be the fuel pump failing, the crank position sensor not working etc etc. Lots of reasons sadly and it needs a diagnostic to really tell what's going on. :(

Had the same problem in my old 318iS - was the fuel pump in the tank that was on it's way out. Lifted the rear seat and thumped it a few times and the car started. Kind of proved it was the pump. :)
