looking around the £200 for a new one..

Im not bothered about Video etc

Just want a nice crisp clear shot when it counts. Holding the camera stready with my hands is a hard task.. So the abiliy to attach to a mini tripod would be great

hello!

i dont really know anything about compact digi's but looking at the spec list it seems pretty decent for 200 quid!

it has the equivalent to a 25-300mm SLR lens so it should be fairly good all round and its 10.1megapixels like my 40D so should have some nice detail!

the fact that it has a Leica lens is a good selling point with them being one of the greatest camera manufacturers around next to Hasselblad!

imsure someone on here knows more about this camera than myself though! ;)

A TZ-7 is a very good camera you will not be disappointed with the images it produces.

I can't comment on the value for money side of things in the UK. Here in Aus the TZ-8 (TZ-7 replacement) goes for around 320 Pounds.

Seriously consider this little Fuji compact, over £300 on release it's expense was considered a downside but

images are excellant (bigger sensor than most compacts), has excellant low light images up to 400 ISO, a

search will get you one for around £150 on net, a bargain, but won't be around for long. Going to order one myself

Good side by side comparison available on this usefull site, (use drop downs to select

cameras you want to compare)

Not much in it but I think the Fuji edges it, image of the tape measure sharper at higher ISO :)

If you can pick up a TZ6 then do so as there is great value in them.

The number of megapixels is really only a marketing ploy - the real deal is in the quality of the sensor coupled with the quality of the lens together with the processing engine.

Downside to the Panny is it doesn't shoot RAw nor the ability to manually set exposure

Ordered a Pana Tz7 this evenenenening :)

SWMBO has a TZ65 - same as a TZ7 but no HD video. The screen is excellent and the image quality is very good indeed.

The other slight difference is the TZ65 lacks the 3:2 oversized multi-aspect ratio sensor of the TZ7 which means the alternate aspect ratios are just a crop from 4:3.
