vRS interior, getting it clean.

Featured Replies

Hi all, I picked up a high mileage car so as you can imagine the seats aren't as white as they use to be. I used my simoniez seat cleaner but it didn't really make much impact on the seats or the carpet. So can anyone recommend a good upholstery cleaner to get my whites Daz white? I also have a spare seat that has a years worth of work shop dust on it so it has to be strong enough to get that up as well.

On the same note I only need one seat out of the set so if anyone wants any replacement bits (passenger seat, rears, door cards) then let me know and I will get them to hold on to it for you. The seats are going for £75 each, didn't ask about door cards.

*Mods, if the above statement is against the rules, please can you just edit that bit out and leave my original message.

My seats were slightly mucky and the more products and water I used the more it stained as the water dried. In the end I got some washing powder and rubbed it in since its a bit gritty, then with plenty of water wiped it with a cloth and got an old vac (use a wet n dry vac if you can get one) to try and suck some water up. Worked a treat!!

You really need a vax to get the dirt out mate rubing wont really cut it as your only moving it around.. interested to hear which products folks use as my cards a getting grubby

Hire a rug doctor from Homebase

To get the white bits in the seats clean I usually just use some Vanish stain remover diluted in warm water, rub them with a soft bristeld brush dipped in the vanish mixture, then dry them immediately using a hair dryer. If you leave them to dry over a long period of time you get the annoying water marks.
