thanks baker. It's barks worse than it's bite. No really it is. It's got a mx-5parts dual exhaust and boy is it loud.

Interiors work in progress lol. No door panels as they fell to pieces when my mate removed them. We did get the head unit fitted along with the E36 clock. But yeah nice contrast.

Nice work John

You can do mine once i get it back from the garage emoticon-0106-crying.gif

its having a new sill welded in to get it through its MOT.. costing a not inconsiderable amount of money too! so this car has now gone from cheap smoker to a keeper in one weekend.

I did warn you......

I've been to look at a dozen over the last couple of weeks, and not found a good one yet ( not within my budget anyway...ho hum )

true... if anything they do tend to go for silly money.

what this has cost me + sill repair will prob stand me at its actual worth now, so im not too fussed really..

get on mx5nutz - usually some decent cars on there for reasonable money.. although they all seem to be southerners lol

Let me guess - underneath just in front of the rear wheelarch?...

They all go there but it's non-structural - there are three layers of steel there, the outer one being cosmetic but it acts as a water trap and they rust from the inside out. Also if the hood drains have ever been blocked the sills fill with water and hey presto - rust! When the Mk2.5's came out I remember a few people complaining that the same area was rusting after just 6 months, them having found out by removing the blanking plugs in the wheelarch to dinitrol the area...

Escort sills are apparently a close match and you should be able to get each side done for about £150 ish (for a good job).
