I'm having a discussion on the NZ VAG forum and a couple of members on there insist they have seen production 6 speed Mk1 Octavia vRS.

Did they ever do one? I thought they all had the 5 speed O2J gearbox?

They only had the 5 speed in the UK and Europe as far as I know... not sure about Australasia,. the 6 speed was only fitted to the 225bhp 1.8T VAG cars or the higher spec diesels

The 6 speed gearbox is on the Golf 4 Anniversary 180BHP car

That has the AUQ engine code

Yes the same as yours in the vRS

But to be fair , I have only seen 1 , and that was Des`s , that had it changed from 5 to 6 speed

All UK (and I think globally) Mk1 vRS's came with the 5-speed 02J (EHA code) gearbox.

He's adamant that his brother has a 6 speed Mk1 Octavia vRS.

But hasn't provided any proof

theres no point in going on about something i know fully well that im correct dont need to justify things to you or golfboy lol.
