As a cabby, I can take a fare anywhere in the UK or if the need arises even Europe, I have had a clean licence for the last 29 years but would still like to know if a camera is on my destination route either by an icon on the map or better still with a warning, and would like everything in one unit without the need for additional items on the dash

Some members on here may be able to inform myself and others just how good or bad this update is

Don't forget though that camera locations change on a daily basis and the only way to update the RHS510 is to burn a new DVD everytime you want to update the camera locations (unless any new firmware updates mean you can do it via an SD card).

If that DVD was made 2 months ago I hate to think how many of them are actually out of date... And does it cover mobile locations too?

I have sent they guy a message asking a few questions about the cameras, waiting for a reply, as long as it has all the fixed ones on that should be suffice when your in a strange area its good to have advanced warnings

OK, I've got an Origin B2 unit which I dropped off subscription almost 12 months ago because it was between vehicles and at the time, I had other things to do with the £50!

I've driven all over the country since then and only been close to being caught out on one occasion by a fixed camera (Gatso) because of the out of date internal database. I have however noticed that variable speed limits due to roadworks have not been accurate but thats to be expected.

To be brutally honest, the Gatso's don't change very much at all so thats not really an issue. Variables do but you would have to be completely blind and / or stupid to miss them and the associated signage, especially in roadwork areas. Mobile units are almost certainly out of scope of the RNS510 anyway so thats not an issue and you really need a laser detector anyway! :-)

I reckon its a worthwhile upgrade but to be honest I think the guy is taking the p**s massivly with how much he's charging. I'd be tempted to offer £15.

The guy sent me a nice pic as well and has said it does not give a warning sound , but I like the way it shows the speed for the road
