Update.

Did the drivers side after a struggle freeing rusted seized lower slider. Lots of penetrating fluid under the slider boot,Lots hammering did it.

Tip :

Have some penetrating fluid handy.

Passenger side lower slider BROKE off on trying to free it,

Would have saved £10 :( ,

(and I'm a pensioner).

Will now soon have a spare caliper (minus carrier) !

damn that was really unlucky for that carrier to snap off like that, those bolts must have been uber tight :thumbdown:

at least you will have a spare caliper now, although bear in mind that they are handed (left only fits left side, right fits right side) the carriers are the same though and will fit either side

Its done now, :thumbup::)

How I retracted the caliper piston with a jemmy bar :

Mind that rubber bit !

Here's the new pads in place, just yanked out the old ones and cleaned up their grooves with a screwdriver,

Swing the caliper down and bolt it on to the slider after applying 'PH grease' under the gaiter's (dont know if they still sell that stuff-'PH grease' that is).

And all done now :

Now have a spare caliper minus carrier. :dull:

Caliper and carrier arrived in two days from phone order at the breaker :thumbup:

Anyone want a passenger side caliper minus carrier fresh from the breaker B)

Well, cleaned it up a bit,its cost me £10 ;)
