Not Very Cold Air-Con,Any Ideas?

Featured Replies

Hi all.

I hav`nt posted on here for ages but i am needing some advice on my air con.--

It has`nt been very cold from the vents so i got the system re-gassed yesterday, the system was very low on gas.

It was then icy cold but today even after 20 mins on full blower speed the air was only cool.

Any ideas why this is???

This has got to be the poorest air-con on any car i have had but i`m sure it was always icy when i got the car 19 months ago..

Thanks in advance folks.............................

PS its not on ECON.

it sounds like its not holding the pressurse you need to get the system pressure tested

Sounds as if they may have put too much gas in ?? as if you had a leak that severe you would hear it hissing out emoticon-0148-yes.gif

Mine had an O-ring fail on the condenser - once that was replaced it held pressure and blows cold now!

Get them to refill with a dye additive and then check with a UV light, this will show where it is leaking from.

It could just have been over-gassed (where did you take it?), or it could be leaking.

Thanks for the replys everyone.

Seems like i may have a leak somewhere, the garage should perhaps have filled with a dye to check for leaks as the gas was very low rather than just re-filled it,useless barstewards..

Had the air-con on today and again only cool,bummer...

More expense....

THANKS PEOPLE

Like Ken says it depends on where you take it and what you ask for sometimes.

I would have thought that if they recovered little they would have just done the dye :dull:
