Variable Servicing?

Featured Replies

Hi All, first post here - i'm driving a Superb 1.9PD - have passed 11,000 in 5 months, without getting a warning for a service - my wife's fabia warned us @ 5,000 - but after a year.

Coming from the old school of 3,000 Miles is enough for any fill of oil, can this be right?

Hello and Welcome Vladimir,

my brother has a S3 and he's on variable and his service light dosen't normally come on till at least 15,000miles so am sure your doing ok.

is it on variable servicing?

If your car is on variable servicing, which it should be, then the on-board computer will calculate when a service is required based on driving styles and conditions of use. The maximum service interval for your car is 30,000 miles or 2 years , whichever comes first. However if you top up with more than 1/2 litre of non long-life oil then the service indicator will come on earlier and the time or distance between service will be reduced. See the Articles section here for a list of suitable long-life oils. Given the price of VW 506 01 oil, you wouldn't want to be changing that every 3000 miles!
