Crashy Scout suspension

Featured Replies

Any ideas on how I can make my Scout a more comfy ride? I am prepared to lose a bit of the handling, but my wife's Citroen Picasso is a much nicer car to travel in!

A downside of the Scout's increased ride height over the standard Octy is the slightly stiffer supension to control body roll. Taking tyre pressures to the manufacturer's minima may help you, but the front end of the Scout seems to have a reputation for being a bit "crashy".

As for your Picasso comparison - different cars for different purposes, so it seems silly to compare ride comfort. IFollowing your reasoning, aren't you disappointed that the Picasso isn't brilliant on a rocky forestry trail? :)

I see that KONI now list FSD dampers suitable for the Scout. They will massively improve ride quality while also enhancing your handling.

I know, the Pic is no good off road! However, looking at the aftermarket stuff, looks like it could be done with adjustable coilovers, but is likely to cost somewhere in the region of £1000. I want to keep (or even increase) the ride height but just have a better, smoother ride quality.

Thanks for the feedback though, I will give Koni a ring & see what they can do.
