Oh bugger it started to slip me thinks!

Featured Replies

Well got it remaped about a month ago and the clutch has started to slip i think, went to go away in third, revs went up not much else did! I was hoping it was going to last 10 months, ready for me to go into the forces and then replace with a performance clutch when i had more money, bit suprised as it has only done 53000 miles!

As long as its a half sensible remap (torque curve wise) and you drive it with a bit of "mechanical sympathy" it should last longer.

Try not to boot it below 2000RPM as I believe its torque that kills clutches :)

Ben.

seems theres conflicting reports...some aint had problems and done many miles...depends how its been driven probably...just to make sure its slipping take the car on a slight incline and at about 40 in third accelerate...if the revs go up without the car moving much then im afraid the clutch is deffo slipping.

Just taken it out slipping defo bugger!! Would be a bit pointless replacing it with a oem one now wouldnt might aswell save for the sachs clutch.

On a wild card the car hasnt even done 1000 miles since the remap, would it even be worth emailing the remap company and seeing if they would do anything? I know i can guess the answer but hey you never know!
