delivery date/Ocatvia update

Featured Replies

Hi all. My new VRS arrives in 2 to 3 weeks now. I went into the dealer yesterday to choose my new reg etc and i cant bloody wait now, i will get some pics uploaded as soon as i get it.

Also just for peoples info, i had a look at all the little updates that are going on the cars after a certain build week. Basically the kick plates are different (the new ones are horrible by the way, the dealer showed me them). The clutch needs pressing before you start the engine and you get an extra 500rpm to play with., The full beam sticker on the stalk is different and when the TC is turned off the displayed warning light is different....... Thats about it......... The dealer showed me all the pics of the new updates and he doesnt know why they bothered as its tiny little things that wont even be noticed.

Also he said the new shape Octavia is set for a late 2012, early 2013 release which will be the time i would be after a new car anyway

No further update on mine as yet other than it was moved to build week 19 instead of 20. Been in to put my private plate on retention so didnt need to pick a new plate (well thats the plan) last weekend but my salesman is on holiday this week so no further update. Im hoping that it is en-route from the factory around about now. I think we had the same build weeks so hopefully 2 to 3 weeks for me as well :D

I will be asking for an update next week for an estimated delivery/collection date

Had a call from the dealers on Wednesday this week. Car in the factory so should be built now! Salesman will ring again to confirm when it's shipped. Looking at 2nd week in June realistically, I guess before I get behind the wheel.

How long are the DVLA quoting to put on retention.

I know the last time I did it, it took about 4 weeks.

I am lucky as I have a DVLA office down the road, but it does not really speed it up.

The ONLY benefit of getting the new car with a normal plate is that when you eventually sell that car, you will have the original plates (saves about £15.00)

I still have the original plates from the car that I am driving at the moment, so I can just pop them back on when the retention certifciate comes through.

So what does the redline go up to now as I thought it went to 5000rpm (an extra 500rpm over the PD engine) already? Also has the engine been mapped differently to give power up to this level since most diesels run out of puff higher up the rev range making it a bit pointless to rev so high anyway.

Hi guys!

Just called the dealership and have been told that my car has been built and should be on the boat bound for Ireland this weekend - with arrival at dealership on Wednesday and collection on June 1st!

Here's hoping, anyway. :)

My dealer reckons about 10 days and they were going to hand it in at the local DVLA office. That was Saturday so obviously not heard anything just yet. Knowing my luck the car will arrive but the retention certificate wont.

If i get pulled over by the police now i will look very suspicious. No V5, no MOT certificate, no insurance certificate, and carrying different plates in the boot (so i can put the old ones back on when i get the nod from DVLA)

If it takes 14 days then I will wait until I knwo the car is on a ship.

Hi Guys,

Is the ORP price of a new VRS 16,250 (petrol without DSG) with the Vat deal or is it higher? I'm interested in changing my 2006 VRS.

Not sure mate but i got my VRS CR for 17400 so yeah 16250 sounds about right for the petrol.

Yes, the redline in my Cr Vrs is already @ 5000rpm and it was delivered in November 2009.
