****ed Off

Featured Replies

so there i am doing 90 down the m40 when - nothing. the engine decided to cease functioning. my foot flat on the floor and nothing, lift it up and down nothing. managed to navigate from the outside lane to the hard shoulder :scared: . got onto the hard shoulder, out of gear - dash board lights up, engine has stopped. try to turn it over, it turns over but nothing happens  . there is petrol in the tank.

rang skoda recovery, right muppet on the end of the phone  . anyway got bored whilst waiting for aa to turn up so tried starting car again - it started :) then stopped several seconds later  , tried again same result :finger: .

anyway got recovered back to browns skoda, second time in 3 months for that particular event. once again no courtesy car  , had to ring friends to pick us up as there was no offer of assistance at all from them :gnasher: . now i'm really ****ed off with the whole thing, car has only done 1100 miles since its 20k service. on the subject of service on the 4X4 estate when should the haldex oil be changed?

really want shot of this car now, its had a new clutch plate and housing - that was our first experience of browns after sales service  that was at 18500. the car has only done 21700 miles, how many more problems am i going to have with it - i want shot of it.

This sound like one for Customer Service.

Apart from the obvious danger the fact it occured a 2nd time implies not fixed and some in my mind liability if issued as "fixed".

Haldex has to be done every 20k IIRC from my 4x4 ownership.

I would seriosuly consider using another dealer.

The clutch is debatable, my 4x4 lasted 32k, the vRS I have now is past 50k with more power.

Is the AA smart car (can't get you going at the roadside deal not applicable?)

Is this Browns on the Beaconsfield / High Wycombe stretch of the A40??

I've always had really good service from them. In fact I swapped from Merrits in Aylesbury to Browns??

Even on no-notice i've managed to get courtesy cars as well??

With regards to haldex servicing,

Oil change 20,000 miles

Oil and Filter change 40,000 miles.

cheers, wasn't changed on the service according to the log book.

with reference to this being the second time the car has had to be recovered, the first time was the clutch. sorry for any confusion.

so far browns skoda beaconsfield have done nothing right as far as i concerned with aftersales service. never seem to have a courtesy car. we should have been given a car with the aa/warranty cover yesterday - but none offered.

we arranged for a while you wait service, they ****ed that up and said it wouldn't be ready till after 1700 even though we said we would come down @ 0830 and wait. again no offer of transport or anything with that **** up. they are not doing well in my eyes at all.

In fact... Flying Banana - any relation to the Banana Express... of Juniper Hill??

Nope sorry :) . Its the name i use after my car, i drive a yellow fiat punto gt. so all my forum aliass are flyingbanana, including by email address. sad i know, but true.

I don't know the dealer but if they treated me like that I would investigate official complaint procedures, get compensation, and find a good dealer instead ;)

harsh lines mate, dont lose faith in the skuds tho, sounds like you have one bulit on a friday... first post ive seen on here like it..

How is your local fiat dealer in comparision??

Joel

Waste of time, Skoda UK Customer service is RUBBISH.

Your better off telling your dealer to go f*** them selves and find a better one.

Been down that road.......goes Nowhere.

I have an internal e-mail address for the top MUPPET at Skoda Customer Care, if you want it PM me and i'll dig it out for you.

Steve

skoda C/S where very helpfull to me and promised the world, untill the day after the repair was finished and landed me with nearly 3k in costs. they took the micheal and i asked a solicitor, they backed down and done what they should have done 2 months previous. Skoda C/S have been the most unhelpfull and devious manufacturer i have dealt with yet, at least with peugeot they were just lazy.

btw thats 5 months total repair time for a failed gearbox with no courtesy car, compensation or even a sorry. good cars, lots of good dealers, ******* in charge
