How to Remove Air Filter Housing

Featured Replies

Hi

I need to remove the air filter housing on 54 reg OctyII. I am doing this to get to the Reverse Sensor wires, one of which has snapped - hence my reverse lights and sensors are not working.

Anway - on the air filter housing, I found 1 hex screw in about the middle of the housing, but on the right hand side there was some other fastner - which I couldn't see exactly what this was. I think it could be like a butterfly screw or something but mine is broken

Anyone know what this is ?

Thanks

What engine do you have?

What engine do you have?

1.9TDI

dont know if its the same airbox as my 2.0 tdi, but undo its the hex bolt and GENTLY wiggle and pull (sounds so dodgy.......lol) the airbox. Its a rubber "peg" that holds the box in  Well, mine is anyway

Sounds the same and looks like a rubber peg type thing - but wasn't sure. Will give it a go this evening. Thanks for help.
