312mm upgrade

Featured Replies

Does anyone know if the same parts are used (calipers/Carriers) on the mk4 golf chassis as the mk5 golf chassis? obviously if I bought a kit for the mk1 octavia chassis the discs would be incorrect as they use a 5x100 setup and not a 5x112.

I had the 312mm upgrade on my old pd130 octavia and only needed the carriers and i've been looking around ebay and have found a few sets for the mk4 golf/mk1 octavia but not a great deal on the mk5 golf/mk2 octavia

IIRC Harry_VRS was selling a set of 312's for the MKII?

HERE's the thread. It's not really clear whether they sold or not though?

You only need the carriers and new discs and not callipers

Here is a thread I created on that:

The discs are certainly different and I'm fairly confident the carriers are different from the MK IV platform.

The Callipers on the PD140 are already the same as those on the VRS, so you don't need to spend any money there ( fabia users needed to do that)

I found that and read it yesterday, I'm quite happy to buy a kit, means I get a spare set of calipers and in years to come I can always sell the caliper/carriers as a kit and get my money back.

I found quite a few 312mm caliper carriers for the mk1 octavia but unfortunatly they wont fit on the mk2 which only left a couple of sets of calipers/carriers available.

I saw a MKV GTI at a breakers yard down this way, and it was a fairly smashed up on the side, but I'll have a nosey and see if the carriers survived.

Don't put yourself out for me, I've just purchased a kit and they are heading on their journey to me today
