twice yesterday I was stopped and asked if my car was a Yeti and how did I like it.

In the first encounter a family in a Roomster followed me to a car park and asked if they could have a look and what did I think of it. It was the first they'd seen.

In the second encounter, a family approached me on a supermarket car park and asked the same question plus, how much was the annual road tax (seemed his boss had a CRV which was £220 a year).

I wonder if you get that with Porsches and Ferraris? I never got it with my Merc SLK!

Anyone else had this kind of hero worship?

ps I was dreading being asked if you can fit snow chains!!

Had this a couple of times; a relative visiting next door driving a Freelander II auto was interested if they did an auto 4x4 version. Then last weekend parked at Kirkham Priory (North Yorkshire) an Octavia II owner came over to have a general chat about the Yeti and how I was liking it

Why were you dreading about the snowchains???

Yeti drivers are soooo approachable. Very easy to talk to as long as it does not involve sunroofs or delivery times.

Regarding the chain question, the answer is easy: With a good set of winter tyres, you don't need them.

Tongue in cheek Mac. There was quite an exchange about this earlier this year. I'm fully expecting that when we get to midsummmer day in less than 1 month and the nights start to draw in and Yeti people start to think about the onset of winter, the question of snow chains will emerge again!
