Fault Code Reader

Featured Replies

Hi guys,

I thought it might be a good idea to get a fault code scanner/reader, so I was wondering if anyone could suggest a good one? I'm not really sure what the options are, or what differences there would be between them..? I'm not too bothered about cost, if it means getting a decent one...

My car's an early 54 plate (i.e. September) one - looks like it's got a COM port..? Not sure if it's possible/worth getting one that works with more than one type of vehicle, just in case..?

Thanks :)

Having a look on Gendan's site, they also list this one:

It's a little more money (OK, double :p), but seems to be able to read the fault codes for pretty-much all the systems, and can do basic reading on other makes - have you heard anything about this one/got any opinions?

Thanks very much for the further suggestions - I'll have a look into them and get back when I pick one :)
