Bora front end on an octy!

Featured Replies

Does anyone know if you had the grill, lights and bonnet from a bora if they would fit an octavia, ie bolt straight on i know the wing is different as the octy has indicators but with those it looks the same as the front of the bora! anyone any ideas?

I know it's a common mod on the golf and it looks really good.

Dunno how that would look on the ocatvia though, I like the look of them as they are

im taking it that all the wireing mounting points are the same, im just wondering about the wings because obviously the bora has no indicators wether the bora front end would fit with the octy from wings!

I'd say no then.

The usual mod on the Golf is a complete front end swap so that everything meets/lines up.

I wouldn't have thought this was possible TBH,

The Bolf & Gora's are 2 versions of the same car don't forget.. Though the Octty is based on the platform I'm not convinced they're as closely related as this would require.

I think if it was possible then it would have been done by now.

A Gora or a Bolf is not an unusual mod but like Rob said those 2 cars are very closely related.

Why would you? the Bora has the image of the Derby

I tried fitting the front end of a 1975 Maserati Bora to my Octy. It was a disaster...

I parked my octy next to a Bora the other day and they look almost identical (both silver as well) and I did wonder about this as the Bora front looks quite slippery. The problem though would be what to call it post OP. :D Boctavia, Boravia, Octora ?

most of an octy is bora or vice versa, its just cosmetic changes!

i can get all the bits for £130 quid in silver so i think i might try lol

no most of the octy isnt a bora lol different all together hence why it hasnt been done

the bora shares the mk4 platform not the octy platform

plus it would look gash anyway lol

lol

PhotoShop any1?? Sounds interesting, i like

only advantage i can really see i the fact projector headlight housings are easier to get for the bora than the octy

I agree with Clive about it looking cr*p... sorry! The Octy front end looks great, why change it? The square headlights on a Bora look too dated, at least the Octy has the rounded indicators to make it look a bit better.

Whereabouts are you mate, my bro is looking to do this to his golf and his is satin silver.

Let me know if it doesn't work for ya (and you haven't mangled everything trying lol)

I'd never heard of a Bolf until today. After looking at a few on Google, I'd have to agree with Clive too, they look a bit pants to be honest. The Octavia is much better looking than either the Golf or the Bora. However, I can see why Golf owners do the swap as they have the least good looking of all.

There's a couple of Bolf's round my way, I think they look rock hard compared to the standard Golf, it always makes you look twice.

A very good mod, if I owned one it'd be on the list of things to do

However, I don't own one, I had sense and bought my vRS so I think changing what is an already aggresive looking car is :moon:

Whatever the opinion on the front end is wrt styling, it won't work for an octy. The bonnet and too edge if the front wings is much greater than an octy and so height at the top of the wings is greater so wings won't bolt on without some metal beating!

Personally I thing it would look just plain wrong!

THe front end of the Octy def looks far better than the Bora. Just can't see why you would want to do it but each to their own i suppose

It looks smart on the Golf, don't think it will look smart on an Ocy.

i want to see a photoshop for the fun of it!
