Oh I don't doubt it I don't know anything about Skoda resale values so I'm sure you're right with

best thing to look at for reslae values on used cars is the car sales section of the Skoda UK website, you'll be able to search for cars exactly the same as your folks' and then see what they go for on the used forecourts.
