octavia vrs tdi

Featured Replies

Here we go iv got no remote central locking, oncluding the boot

it will not lock with the dvrs door key lock how ever it will lock just the front doors with the lock switch in the middle of the car.

iv tryed both keys, the only other problem is the dvrs window control will not open the pass window, both windows work ,the mirrors work, the door lights work

any 1 got any ideas, i thought it might be the control unit in the dvs door.

As the drivers door switch panel cannot control the passenger window, obviously the problem isn't constrained to the central locking mechanism. I think you need to scan it with VCDS or a fault code reader and see what fault codes are stored on the central convenience module.

thanks its going in to skoda on tue, i hate it as they have told me it cost between 100 and 500 euros just to diagniose the problem . the convenance module is that located above the glove box next to the air bag? is the unit coded to the key fob and vehicle and does it act similar to a bsi unit on peugeots.

im a squaddie mechanic stuck in germany so any help is welcome.

until last weekend i had been praising my car with no faults and laughing at s and c maxs breaking down lol

The convenience unit is behind the light switch. MK 1 Octavias are prone to getting water into the door control units and rotting the pins away in the plug, loss of remote locking is usually one of the first symptoms.

Check the wires in the door jamb accordian hose, just incase.
