Adrian Flux quoted me

Hells Bells...........

I mean, I know I'm a bit older than Jason (iirc - I'm 26) but Adrian Flux quoted me circa 850 (ecan't remember exact figure) on the 130 Pastie with coilovers and 17" EV-S wheels.........

None of which I can afford yet......... :o

Tried Adrian Flux a couple of times when I had the Subaru & both times they quoted me "youve got to be kidding, its not a Ferrari". I had the same problem with Norwich Union when I tried to Insure the Octy, as soon as you mentioned "mods" they went silly with the quote.

It really pays to shop around & thankfully I found L&V before they twigged what they were actually offering. Now it looks like stay with them until I sell the car, meanwhile keep modding!

I think with some of the bigger companies you are paying for their flash advertising campaign.

I'm going to scan the paperwork from LV tonight, and as they've made NO, and I mean NO communication regarding modifications of any kind, I can only assume they're still happy. You know what they say about assumptions being the mother of all ****-ups! :D;)

Its my understanding that an Insurance company can not change your policy when you renew it without specifically telling you what they are changing so if it was OK before its OK now. Hence the reason I am with L&V until I sell the Octy & get a sensible un modded car somewhen next year

Give Chris Knott a call. They are not totally keen on the youngest of drivers, but would be good to know for reference.

Check if you were given a "statement of fact" with the renewal notice. I know Frizzell send them, and I would expect LV to do so as well (after all, they are basically the same company).

When I spoke to Frizzell recently about fitting a new rear ARB, they updated my record on their computer, and sent a new insurance certificate. There's nothing about mods on the insurance certificate itself, but the accompanying "statement of fact" quite clearly states that the car now has both "engine/carburetter modifications" and "suspension modifications".

Oh, and it didn't cost me any extra

Jason, be very wary with this assumption. Although you may not get the answer that you want to hear, I think it would probably be best if you called them (given their well-publicised change of heart) and see what they say?
