Boot Net on FL estate

Featured Replies

Help,

Maybe it's just me being stupid, but the stretchy boot net thing that came with the car does not seem to fit anywhere in the boot, I have had a good look and the fixing hook thingys do not seem to want to fit anywhere which is a shame as it would be very useful. I have the rubber boot mat fitted and dog guard also so i suppose that could be blocking the correct anchoring points.

Any ideas ?

Aye it does :giggle: there's about 40 million wee points for it to clip into, all the wee hoops -- metal body coloured and black plastic ones -- up the sides and bottom, they're all usable for the net.

You can tie stuff down, create a partition etc. etc. magic. The variable boot floor rocks though, i use it all the time to partition the shopping quickly.

I think the net is designed to fit the floor mounted hoops but like you I have variable boot floor and plastic boot tray. This does limit your options for using the net. I eventually found that the only way to utilise it was to fold it in half and attach it along the near side (or you could do off side) so that it hangs like a kind of pocket. You have to tuck the bottom edge down the side of the mat and variable boot floor but it works ok.

Sarge.

Will give that a try, cheers

vRScarl used to have the luggage net, then iirc bought the variable level luggage thing. ask him, he miht use both now.

anyone (without a variable boot floor) in a fl estate got a pic of the net fitted they can post?

Not got a picutre, but IIRC there are:

  • clip on the floor either side towards the rear bumper
  • clip on the floor towards bottom of suspension struts
  • clip either side just below the boot cover (at rear)
  • clip either side just below boot cover near suspension struts

So about 8 in total, you can normally make the net clip onto any of these in virtually any combination

I made a sort of stretchy vertical pocket across the hatch opening. I fitted a couple of lightweight spring loaded carabiner clips from Focus and they snap onto the floor loops. The rest of the net loops over the fitted black hooks. Assuming the estate is similar.

Very useful for briefcases and small items.
