Ok i have been fancying a VRS for a while now but i was not sure i could live with the fuel bills etc as i have an octy TDI, but.........

a mate in the motor trade rang me yesterday and said he has had a black VRS part X'd did my boss want it (I work for a skoda specialist/sales)..

turned out it was on a 52 plate in met black and 120k on it and i just couldn't say no to the price :p in the end i paid £1800 for it and i have to say it was money well spent once i had got out of diesel driver mode :o

totally std even has the factory stereo and has skoda service history till 06 then it get a bit sketchy but its been looked after by the way it drives.

anyway what should i expect MPG wise on mainly long runs at around the speed limit  and what can i do for little money to improve bits..

Would think it would be about the same as a 4x4 so going to say about 30 ish but at the end of the day its down to how you drive it :-)

I get about 35mpg from mine. Welcome to the club

I do an average of abou 28.5mpg but if I do motorway I can get it close to 40.

hmm i am a bit concerned at how easy it is to get into single figures on the trip :giggle: but i recon once the novelty has worn off a bit it should be ok.. drives like a new one so must have been an easy 120k :smirk:

Cracking price for the whole car. I spent well over half that replacing the turbo! As for mpg, my last tank averaged 35mpg. If I enjoy myself and mix playing and family driving, it falls to about 28mpg over a tankful.
