Picked up an 09 Brilliant metalic Silver, Skoda Octavia 1.9TDi Elegance today and I love it :rofl:

I have to admit that a few years ago I wouldn't have given one a second glance but, I've now seen the light :giggle:

Thanks for all the welcomes guys. As I say I love it and this site is very handy and informative. I think it was love at first drive :wub: only trouble was that I drove the VRS first and my wife and I very nearly bought it :love: however, we put on our sensible heads and considered our daughter and took the sensible option :'(

But when she's older ..... God am I going to have some fun :dance:

Welcome, Had a fabia 2 / 3 1.9tdi ,needed a larger car , did not consider any other manufacturer just as happy with my yeti

Tish!! Sensible...pah!!

I've got two kids....and bought the vRS. It's just as practical, fuel economy aside!

I can get 44mpg on a decent run with the family and kit all onboard, as long as it's (a) not wet/windy/cold and (B) I stick to 70-ish.

It gets 37mpg most days on my 30 miles commute to work, and my old Golf TDi only used to get 44mpg on the same journey.

Life's too short to drive a diesel. :rofl:

<ducks for cover>
