The all-road Skoda Superb Scout, based on the wagon model of the Superb sedan, will appear at the 2011 Geneva Motor Show in March next year. The Superb Scout will complete the Skoda range, with the Fabia, Fabia Wagon, Roomster and Octavia already available in this version. The new Scout will have all-wheel drive and will compete with other models in the segment such as the Audi A4 allroad, Saab 9-3X, Subaru Outback and Volvo XC70.

According to Automobile Magazine, who produced this rendering, the Skoda Superb Scout will only be available with the 2.0-litre TDI engine with 170 hp and a six-speed manual. It should cost about 1,500 euros more than the Superb Wagon model, making its starting price about 35,500 euros.

I hope they decide to make a DSG version too...

My Elegance TDi 170 4x4 Estate will do me nicely, no plastic bits to go funny colours!

I want one!

Audi A6 Allroad? Pah!

My 2008 Octavia Scout's plastic is still fade free.

A mate's 1998 Ford Ka however is now more shades of Grey than a winters day!

The Scout's plastic seems to be painted or lacquered so hopefully it will last much longer.

Build the Superb Scout please!

What colour is that supposed to be?

Looks like what was "Highland Green" in the first generation Audi allroad from 2000. Great car - I had mine for 5 years, and its honesty was what I missed when the 2nd gen version arrived. The Octavia Scout captures a lot of that honesty without quite the same refinement so I hope the Superb version moves it on. In the meantime I'll stick with my Scout and let my wife lord it up in the allroad.

We've already got the 4x4 superb over here, i've owned one for the past 5 months... (It's been available since launch in 170 TDi and 3.6V6) what this is, is a "Scout" version... ie, taller, and with plasticky bumpers...

Altho, interesting to see it in a wider range of engines becoming available, inc the 1.8 & 1.4TFSi. (But still only in manual... Like mine...) (other than the V6 which is only available in DSG)

Despite the internet rumours no sign of this at Geneva, or the Q3 for that matter.

Can live in hope it may appear later in the year, if at all.

Would make a nice trade up to a nearly new when my current Scout hits 150k miles in about 3 years time.....

It suddenly occurred to me:

In the UK you can no longer factory order the Audi A6 allroad, and there is no public announcement of its replacement in the much larger new version of the A6/A6 Avant. This vacuum would allow Skoda to introduce a Superb Scout without cannibalising A6 allroad sales. This of course doesn't take into account the perceived quality/prestige and badge snobbery issues - just the functionality of an on/off-road hybrid (application, not power). I've got no hang-ups myself as we have both marques in our family, and a Superb Scout would be just perfect.
