After owning my Furby for 3 months I had noticed what poor condition my paint was in....It was like sandpaper to the touch and lacked shine. After a few hours browsing these forums and a few quid spent on kit I had a go at detailing my car today. Pics to follow

I started by a wash using Turtle wax shampoo using the 2 bucket method. I changed the buckets for each half of the car as there was some heavy soiling on the lower half of the car. I then dried it off and used a Meguiars quik clay kit to smooth all the surfaces. I couldnt believe the sheer amount of contaminants my paintwork was harbouring! I then rinsed with cold water and washed again using Autoglym bodywork conditioner, and applied some Meguiars quick detailer to the door jambs. Then I applied a coat of Meguiars Gold class wax followed by a coat of Meguiars Nxt wax to finish.

Any comments/tips would be greatly appreciated

Cheers. To be honest that is a picture of the interior the weekend I picked the car up. I have been using 1001 troubleshooter stain remover as recommended on these forums, to try and keep them clean although they dont look quite this good any more. Any tips on what would be best to use?

I use AG Interior Shampoo (I think) but for those seats a steam clean may be the only way to get them clean; all my fabrics are treated with Scotch Guard to try keep them looking new and help prevent stains. A spray can easily be bought on ebay if nowhere else.

Cheers :) I wil bear it in mind as they look fantastic when clean but it doesn't take them long to get grubby at all

Nice work there, it's tough to get such a shine on Yellow as it behaves very similarly to silver and other lighter coloured cars, nice motor that and good detail...........

By the way Will, Might seem like a bit of a daft question but does Scotch Guard protect against water marking? This is my biggest problem so far. Also which variety do you use is it the original or the outdoor?

I can't guarantee it but I should say so as it basically waterproofs the fabric; it should just bead off in small doses. Prolonged contact with water may induce watermarking but I really don't know. As far as I know I just got a can of this. Hope that helps

It does thankyou. I'm glad you put that link up as I was searching for 'Scotchguard' whereas it is actually 'Scotchgard' and I was getting few results from ebay. The offer for 2 cans is cheaper than the single cans my search resulted in. Thanks for all your help

Can you use Scotchgard on Alcantara?
